Looking for small things to crochet can be as easy as a crocheted body puff. This was actually one of the first things I crocheted and sold at craft fairs. They are super easy to make and quick to work up – taking just a few hours.
Being a huge fan of using all natural products, one of the first easy crochet items I made was a crocheted body puff. I used and prefer 100% cotton yarn to make them and replacing my regular synthetic puffs bought at the store was amazing! Not only did I need less soap, but they lasted so much longer. I just threw them in the laundry weekly and they lasted six to eight months.
Crochet Body Puff Pattern
If you are new to crocheting, this is a great item to start with and even seasoned professionals love making them. Here is the basic crochet body puff pattern I made and used:
- Ch 6 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
- Ch 45 (for the hanging loop) and sl st that back into the same st you started at.
- Round 1 – ch 1 and work 20 sc in the ring, sl st to the first st.
- Round 2 – ch 3 and work 3 dc in each sc around, sl st to the first dc.
- Round 3 – ch 3 and work 3 dc in each dc around, sl st to the first dc.
- Round 4 – ch 3 and work 3 dc in each dc around, sl st to the first dc.
- Round 5 – ch 3 and work 1 dc in each dc around, sl st to the first dc.
- Round 6 – ch 2 and work 1 hdc in each dc around, sl st to the first dc.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Do you like a bigger body puff? Simply, add one to two more rounds (similar to round 3-4) and you will have a bigger, more full body puff. Get creative and make them in different solid colors, vibrant colors, and even variegated colors. These handmade body puffs make great gifts for just about any occasion. Have fun and enjoy creating.
